Just when you thought no one would get a decent idea to challenge World of Warcraft and its terrificly succesful launch of the Burning Crusade expansion pack, some Danish toy company (hint hint) announced they are going to release a MMORPG some time in 2008.
Now don’t get me wrong, the whole Lego/Star Wars video games series was great but we all know what happened to Star Wars: Galaxies…
I have to be honest, I’m curious about the premise and implementation thereof, especially in terms of player interaction, class system, trade, and *shiver* player vs. player combat.
On the bright side, rendering 3D lego bricks should not be difficult technically

Hey, Star Wars Galaxies took several years to fall apart. It started out great and stayed strong for a long time. It fell apart when WOW came out, just like WOW will fall apart when the next big MMORPG comes out. SWG lasted through EQ2. WoW may be big now, but it’s term will end as well. A better example would be the matrix Online and how wonderfully well that did in comparison to the movies. Especially considering how many people were so excited about it.
